Daybed Cover FAQ

How long does it take to make a custom daybed cover?

Most custom daybed covers are made in about 5–7 business days after we receive all required measurements, photos, and order details.

Once your cover is finished, it ships directly from our Queens, NY workshop.

What is the difference between a daybed cover and a daybed mattress cover?

A daybed cover may refer to a more decorative cover for a daybed, cushion, or full daybed setup. A daybed mattress cover usually fits directly over the mattress or cushion itself.

Our mattress covers for daybeds are available in standard Twin and Queen sizes with an elastic backing for easier removal and cleaning. For non-standard sizes, a custom cushion cover is usually the better option, and these can be made with either an elastic or zipper closure.

Do your daybed mattress covers fit standard Twin mattresses?

Yes. Our daybed mattress covers are available for standard Twin-size daybed mattresses.

If your mattress is thicker, thinner, shorter, longer, or otherwise non-standard, contact us or consider a custom cushion cover made to your exact measurements.

Do your daybed mattress covers fit Queen mattresses?

Yes. We offer daybed mattress covers in Queen size as well as Twin size.

Queen daybeds and guest beds can vary in mattress thickness, so check the product details carefully or contact us before ordering if you are unsure.

What if my daybed mattress is not a standard size?

If your daybed mattress, cushion, or bench pad is not a standard Twin or Queen size, you can order a custom cushion cover instead.

Custom cushion covers can be made to your exact width, depth, thickness, and shape, which makes them a better fit for built-ins, antique daybeds, RVs, boats, benches, and unusual mattresses.

Can I use a custom cushion cover for a daybed?

Yes. A custom cushion cover is often the best choice when your daybed uses a non-standard mattress, foam cushion, bench cushion, or custom-sized pad.

This is especially useful for built-in daybeds, window-seat daybeds, reading nooks, RV beds, boat cushions, and older furniture with unusual dimensions.

Are daybed mattress covers easy to remove?

Our standard Twin and Queen daybed mattress covers are designed with an elastic backing, making them easier to remove for cleaning, seasonal changes, or fabric updates.

Custom cushion covers may use different construction depending on the product and selected options.

Can daybed covers be used in kids’ rooms or playrooms?

Yes. Daybed covers are a great option for kids’ rooms, playrooms, reading corners, sleepover spaces, and multipurpose rooms.

For kids’ spaces, we usually recommend durable, spill-proof fabrics that can handle everyday use, snacks, spills, and lounging.

Can daybed covers be used in guest rooms?

Yes. A daybed cover can help a guest room feel more finished when the bed is being used as seating during the day and sleeping space at night.

Many customers coordinate daybed covers with throw pillows, bolster pillows, and matching fabric by the yard for a more polished look.

Can I use a daybed cover on a trundle bed?

Often, yes. Trundle mattresses are commonly Twin size, but thickness can vary quite a bit.

If the trundle mattress needs to slide under a bed frame, you might be happier with something like a mattress cover and no skirt. Contact us if you are unsure which style will work best.

Can daybed covers work for window seats or built-in benches?

Yes, but window seats and built-in benches usually require a custom cushion cover rather than a standard daybed mattress cover.

Custom cushion covers can be made to the exact size and shape of your built-in space.

What fabric is best for daybed covers?

The best fabric depends on how the daybed is used. For everyday lounging, kids, pets, or guest rooms, we usually recommend durable upholstery fabrics, performance twills, performance weaves, heavyweight canvas, heavyweight twill, and pet-friendly fabrics.

For a softer look, chenille, velour, SuedeTouch, and textured weaves can make the daybed feel more comfortable and finished.

What fabric is best for a daybed used by pets?

For pets, choose tightly woven, pet-friendly, high-durability, and scratch-resistant fabrics. These tend to resist snagging and everyday wear better than loose weaves or delicate decorative fabrics.

If your pet sleeps on the daybed often, consider a medium or darker color, subtle texture, or performance fabric that helps hide everyday use.

What fabric is best for a daybed in a sunroom?

For sunrooms, screened porches, and bright rooms, indoor/outdoor performance fabrics are often a smart choice because they are designed for tougher conditions than many decorative indoor fabrics.

Direct sun can affect many fabrics over time, so consider lighter colors or outdoor-rated fabrics if fading is a concern.

Are daybed covers washable?

Care instructions depend on the fabric you choose. Some fabrics may be machine washable, while others should be spot cleaned or dry cleaned.

Always check the care instructions for your selected fabric. For custom covers, spot cleaning or professional cleaning is often the safest long-term option.

Will daybed covers shrink?

Some fabrics can shrink, especially natural fibers like cotton if washed or dried, even in low heat.

To protect the fit, follow the care instructions for your fabric and avoid any heat (even the hot sun) unless the fabric specifically allows it.

How do I measure for a custom daybed cover?

Measure the mattress, cushion, or foam insert itself. You’ll usually need the width, depth or length, and thickness.

If the daybed has arms, a back, bolsters, unusual corners, rounded edges, or a built-in frame, send photos so we can understand the full setup.

Should I measure the mattress or the old cover?

Measure the mattress itself whenever possible. Old covers can stretch, shrink, sag, or lose shape over time.

If you are trying to replicate an old cover exactly, send photos and let us know, but the actual cushion or mattress measurements are usually the better starting point.

Can I order matching throw pillows or bolster pillows?

Yes. Many customers complete a daybed with matching or coordinating throw pillows, bolster pillows, cushion covers, and fabric by the yard.

Bolsters can be especially useful on daybeds because they help the bed feel more like a sofa or lounge piece during the day.

Can I order daybed covers for hotels, rentals, dorms, or guest spaces?

Yes. We work with hospitality spaces, vacation rentals, designers, offices, dorm-style spaces, guest houses, and other business or trade customers.

For high-use guest spaces, we usually recommend durable, performance-oriented fabrics that can handle frequent use and regular maintenance.

Do you offer bulk or trade pricing for daybed covers?

Yes. If you are ordering for a designer project, hospitality space, rental property, dorm, office, or other larger project, contact us before ordering.

We can help with fabric recommendations, accurate pricing, and project planning.

What if I’m not sure which daybed cover collection to choose?

Send us photos of your daybed, mattress, or cushion and tell us how the space is used: guests, pets, kids, lounging, sleeping, rentals, or everyday seating.

We’ll help point you toward the best fabric, size, and cover option for your project.
