Custom dining chair covers are made to your chair’s specific measurements and are the best choice for unusual sizes, special shapes, arms, skirts, or a more tailored look.

EasyFit® dining chair covers are ready-made covers designed to fit many standard dining chairs such as Parson's chairs or wooden dining chairs. They are usually more affordable and simpler to order, but they will not be as tailored as a custom cover.

Yes. Parsons chairs are one of the most common dining chair styles for both custom and ready-made dining chair covers.

If your Parsons chair has unusual proportions, a very thick back, arms, or a special skirted style, a custom cover may be the better option.

Yes. We can make custom dining chair covers for many armchairs, host chairs, captain’s chairs, and end chairs.

Chairs with arms usually require custom measurements and photos because the arm height, shape, and placement affect the pattern.

Yes. Many customers cover only the side chairs, only the host chairs, or mix covered and uncovered chairs for a more layered dining room look.

You can also use a different fabric on host chairs to create a subtle accent at the ends of the table.

Yes. You can order covers for a full dining set, including four, six, eight, ten, or more chairs.

Often, yes. Curved backs, rounded tops, and shaped chair backs usually need a custom cover rather than a standard EasyFit® cover.

Yes. Skirted dining chair covers are a popular option for a softer, more traditional, formal, cottage, or farmhouse look.

Depending on the chair and style, covers may be made with short skirts, long skirts, pleats, ties, or a cleaner tailored bottom.

Yes. Ties can be used on some dining chair cover styles to help secure the cover and add a decorative detail.

A custom dining chair cover will generally stay in place better than a loose ready-made cover because it is made to the chair’s measurements.

Fit, fabric, chair shape, and how often the chairs are used all affect how much adjusting is needed over time.

You’ll usually need measurements for the chair back, seat width, seat depth, seat height, back height, and any arms or special details.

Measure the chair itself rather than guessing based on a similar chair or looking at measurements from the manufacturer. If the chair has curves, arms, skirts, or unusual proportions, send photos along with your measurements.

If all chairs are truly identical, one carefully measured chair may be enough. But dining sets often have small differences, especially between side chairs and host chairs.

If you have multiple chair styles in the same set, measure each style separately.

Send photos from the front, side, back, and if we need additional photos of any special details we'll reach out to you.

If you have both side chairs and armchairs, place two different orders for each chair, and include photos of both. 

For dining chairs, we usually recommend durable, easy-care upholstery fabrics because chairs are exposed to food, drinks, crumbs, and frequent use.

Performance twills, performance weaves, heavyweight canvas, heavyweight twill, pet-friendly fabrics, and textured weaves are often strong choices. Often, customers like our "spill-proof" water-resistant fabrics because they're easy to clean and wipe up after a spill. If you need any recommendations, we're happy to help, and feel free to order swatches in advance.

For homes with kids, choose durable, forgiving fabrics that are easier to maintain. Our "spill-proof" water-resistant fabrics are great for families. 

If the chairs are used every day, choose durability and cleanability first.

For pets, choose tightly woven, pet-friendly, scratch-resistant, or high-durability fabrics. These tend to resist snagging better than loose weaves or delicate decorative textures.

If pets jump on the chairs or scratch fabric, avoid open weaves, large loops, and fragile raised patterns.

Care instructions depend on the fabric you choose. Some fabrics may be machine washable, while others should be spot cleaned or dry cleaned.

Always check the care instructions for your selected fabric. For custom covers, spot cleaning or professional cleaning is often the safest long-term option.

Some fabrics can shrink, especially natural fibers like cotton if washed or dried even in the hot sun.

To protect the fit, follow the fabric care instructions carefully and avoid heat unless the care instructions specifically allow it. Spot cleaning and dry cleaning is highly recommended on most fabrics.
